PHS Participates in Community Service Day
by MacKenzie Peters
Pierce high students and faculty went around town on the morning of Thursday, September 26 to help clean ditches, houses, public facilities and more.
All junior high and senior high students as well as the staff at Pierce High got out of their first and second period classes to better the community. Students did things like pick up trash and debris, painting and cleaning around the community and the school.
Junior Sarah Miller said after performing her community service, which consisted of cleaning and organizing at the high school, “I always feel great after community service day. It is good to know that by doing something so simple we are also doing something to make our community a better place to live.” The school holds this event in order to teach the importance of volunteering to their students.
Pierce High will hold another community service day next year.
