by Sarah Miller
The Pierce High football team traveled to Lincoln for the state game on Tuesday, November 26. The Jays fought hard throughout the game, but ended up losing 38-0. The Jays ended the season 12-1. Throughout the year, the Jays played nine regular season games and four postseason games. The postseason games were at home against Chase County for round one. For round two, the Jays traveled to Ord. And for the semi-final game, they played the top-rated Adams Central team and won. For the state final game, the Jays played Wahoo.
Senior running back and linebacker Carson Oestreich commented on the season, “We had an extremely unforgettable season. The memories of this season will always be with me. I am very thankful for the great things we accomplished this season. The game itself was very tough. Things during the game never went our way. Sometimes games will be like that. It was an awesome experience as a whole!”
Coach Mark Brahmer commented on the season, “We are obviously quite disappointed with Tuesday’s outcome, but I’m still very proud of our boys and their efforts and accomplishments throughout the season. Our senior group of guys will definitely be missed.”
