Amid the Chaos of COVID-19, Don’t Forget to Buy Your Yearbook
by MacKenzie Peters
It’s safe to say that the school year of 2019-2020 will be one to remember. Why not purchase a yearbook to reminisce on these memories for years to come?
The journalism staff has been working long and hard on this Disney themed yearbook. The yearbook contains your favorite memories from all sporting events, academic achievements, and even COVID-19.
Yearbook editor Autumn Hanna describes her inspiration for the Disney theme by saying, “I chose this theme because I felt like Disney was a big part of my childhood as well as many other peoples.” She continues to say, “Buying a yearbook is a great way to remember memories and people from your high school years.”
To add on the importance of purchasing a yearbook, Crys Bauermeister, the journalism advisor, says, “Purchasing a yearbook has always been a good way to remember what happened in high school. In this crazy pandemic and social distancing time, now more than ever we want to feel connected to others. Purchasing a yearbook will help remember all the special times that took place throughout high school.”
If you are interested in a 2019-2020 yearbook, stop by the front office at the high school to put in your order. Yearbooks are $30 for any orders made before May 1 and $35 after that date. The deadline for purchasing your yearbook is May 22.
Also, if you are interested in purchasing yearbooks from the previous three school years, limited copies are available for $35.
Donation for Seniors to Receive Yearbooks
by Klarissa Norris
Senior year is a memorable year for every graduating senior, sadly, some seniors may be unable to purchase a yearbook this school year. Yearbooks allow seniors to recall memories from their final year of high school and keep those memories with them for many years after they leave Pierce High.
Senior Sydney Erickson commented on some seniors not being able to have yearbooks, “All seniors should get yearbooks because it’s a great way for seniors to not only reflect on the year that we just had, but it’s also a great way to look back years later on all the memories that we made in high school!”
This year has been especially memorable with sporting achievements, academic achievements, and of course, COVID-19. Why not help seniors commemorate their unique senior year by donating for one or more of them to receive a yearbook?
Journalism staff member Taylor Compton also commented on all seniors receiving yearbooks saying, “I believe every senior should have a yearbook, it is their last year of high school. Having a yearbook allows them to look back on this year many years down the road. This year it is especially important for seniors to have yearbooks.”
Whether you wish to donate a yearbook to a senior or purchase one yourself, stop by the front office at the high school to put in your order. Yearbooks are $35. The deadline for purchasing a yearbook is May 22.
