Pierce Public Schools Activities:
The NSAA has released their winter sports guidelines for 2020-2021 season. We
understand the circumstances related to COVID 19 are constantly changing and
will vary from community to community. The safety and well-being of the
participants, spectators, and officials are the primary consideration as we provide
opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities at Pierce High School.
The following are steps the PHS administration will take each week. Please pass
these on to your coaches and fans.
General Policies:
- Implement effective cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects
and surfaces.
-There will be spots for filling team water bottles, but we are encouraging
teams to bring their own water. Teams bring your own water jugs/ice.
-All fans will enter through marked entrances, use the separate restrooms,
and limited concessions will be available. We ask you use proper social
distancing. Anyone not listed as a member of the team is required to wear a
mask. This could change depending on the current risk level or each school
participating.
- Each school will have their own locker room to use.
- Family groups are to be seated together.
- Opposing bench personnel are required to wear a mask. This includes
coaches, players not in the game, student managers, statisticians, filmers,
and media. Face coverings must cover the nose and mouth.
- We will follow all NSAA sport specific COVID-19 modifications.
Basketball Specific:
1. Active participants are permitted to wear face coverings during competition,
but not required.
2. Coaches and non-active participants are required to wear face coverings.
3. Spectators are required to wear face covering at all times.
4. Spectators will be limited to 75% of the facility capacity. No fan restrictions
at this time. The visiting team can have approximately 450 fans. The visiting
administrator will communicate with Pierce’s administration if they believe
they will be close to 450 fans. Masks are required at all time.
