Cross Country Boys and Girls Team Compete at Districts Bringing Home First and Runner-Up

On Thursday, October 15, the boys and girls cross country teams both traveled to Albion for districts where both teams qualified for state, with the boys team ending the day by bringing home first and the girls ending the day runner-up.
Individually, getting second for the boys was senior Mason Sindelar with the time 15:52.46. Not too far behind was sophomore Gavin Geneski in fifth place with the time of 17:23.92. Finishing the day in 11th was junior Chris Efta with the time 18:00.90. Junior Brock Bolling finished in 16th place with the time 18:13.27. Sophomore Ashton Koch ran his way to 25th place with the time 19:07.82. Another sophomore Blake Bolling, who was not far behind in 27th place with the time 19:11.67 said, “This is what we've practiced for, this is a big achievement, but we shouldn’t be satisfied because we’ve got work to do at state.”
For the girls team junior Alexis Sindelar ran to first place with the time 19:19.17. Junior Callie Arnold finished the day in 5th place with the time 20:59.19. Very close behind was junior Payten Simmons in 6th place with the time 21:06.22. Also placing was senior Savannah Gilmore in 23rd with the time 23:47.84. In 42nd place was Katie Vogt with the finishing time of 27:38.91.
Coach Gary Shada commented on the day saying, “I was very pleased with the results of the day, but we are still working on improving for state.”
Run by to see the teams compete again on Friday, October 23, at the Kearney Country Club. The girls will run at approximately 1:30, followed by the boys at 2:00 p.m.
