New Students at PHS
Former Student Comes Back to PHS

Braedon Christensen is a junior this year who is transferring from Lincoln High back to Pierce. Christensen left Pierce during his eighth grade year but decided to come back this year to finish his schooling in Pierce where he has already done most of it.
He will not be participating in any sports or extracurriculars, Christensen says, “I work in my free time at Caseys.”
He says his favorite class so far is computer applications.
Christensen says he is most excited for “chemistry next semester.”
Braedon has no siblings and is transferring alone. His favorite thing about being in Pierce is how quiet it is compared to Lincoln.
Junior Tristan Clausen Returns to Pierce High

Pierce High welcomes returning junior Tristan Clausen to the class of 2023.
Clausen is originally from Pierce but transferred to Wayne due to his parent’s job. He transferred back this fall with his younger brother Cole Clausen, who is in grade eight. His favorite class so far is Mrs. Brodersen’s foods and nutrition class, and he is looking forward to taking strength and fitness with Mr. Legate next semester.
Clausen mentioned that he was most excited for sports this year. His favorite free time activity is to play basketball, and he plans to be a part of Pierce’s team this winter as well as playing golf in the spring.
He added that his favorite thing about Pierce was the sports and its coaches.
Clausen stated, “I like how I am able to see all my old classmates again. They are all really nice.”
New Freshman in the House

Pierce High School has a new freshman on the block! Bailey Oleson, who transferred here from Goodrich Middle School in Lincoln, and before that, Norfolk Public, is entering her freshman year of high school at Pierce.
Oleson is currently getting familiar with her classes. She is taking physical science with Mr. Piper, Spanish 1 taught by Mr. Lopez, computer applications with Mr. Freudenburg, and introduction to agriculture with Mr. Neal. She says she enjoys the diversity of classes offered at Pierce, and plans on taking advantage of that.
While she is not currently participating in any extracurricular activities, Oleson mentioned that she likes the variety of clubs and activities to pick from, and plans on choosing one in the spring to get involved in.
Also, Oleson says, “There’s nicer people here.” She carries a sentiment that the positive and kind atmosphere is something she is liking about attending classes at Pierce High.
With all this put together, Oleson seems to be taking a liking to Pierce High School and will, with any luck, be enjoying attending the school.
Zion Freshman Transfers to Pierce High
Pierce High Welcomes Hadley Wragge

Pierce High School is welcoming new student Hadley Wragge, who transferred from Custer, South Dakota, and says she has attended four schools. She does not have any siblings transferring with her.
She decided to switch to be closer to her family who live in Pierce. She states that she will not be doing any sports or extracurriculars this year; however, she also says that she will, “maybe next year be doing volleyball and basketball” in the future.
Her favorite class so far is Spanish and she is looking forward to taking some art classes. She enjoys reading or being on her phone in her free time.
When asked what her favorite thing about Pierce so far she states, “Everyone is very outgoing.”
New Freshman at Pierce High

Freshman Kaylee Steffen transferred from Zion Lutheran School to Pierce High this fall. Steffen previously attended Kent Wood Schools in Kearney before attending Zion.
Her favorite class so far is marching band with Mr. Sindt, and she looks forward to concert band with Mr. Sindt as well. This year she is very enthusiastic about our band program and to be a proud member of it.
In her free time, Steffen enjoys reading.
Steffen has one brother, Matthew, a junior. Steffen stated, “My favorite thing here [Pierce High] are the people. Everybody’s really nice.”
