New Freshman Face at Pierce
By Emma Risinger
For the 2022-2023 school year, Pierce High has a new face in the building, Ann Reeker.
Prior to switching to Pierce, Reeker attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Hadar. Reeker remarked on how there are some notable differences between Hadar and Pierce, specifically that there are a lot more students and a different learning environment, both sure to be major adjustments.
Reeker has participated in volleyball, St. Paul's Lutheran Church youth group EPIC, and student council, and reportedly plans to continue all three. When asked about why she participates in these activities, Reeker said, “I really enjoy them, and EPIC was a great way to make new friends and help out in the community.”
In the classroom this year, Reeker is taking a variety of classes such as geometry with Mr. Doerr, introduction to business taught by Mr. Thramer, English 9 with Ms. Mosel, computer apps by Mr. Freudenburg, Spanish 1 taught by Mrs. Victor, physical science with Mr. Piper, and introduction to FCS by Mrs. Brodersen.
Reeker seems to be adapting to Pierce well, and even said so herself, “I really like the people here at Pierce High. Everyone has been very welcoming.”
Reeker is set up for a well-rounded, fun first year at Pierce.
