Wachholtz and Valverde Crowned 2023 Homecoming King and Queen

Pierce High crowned Keenan Valverde as the 2023 Homecoming king and Jaya Wachholtz as queen on the Pierce High track after the football game versus Wayne on Friday, September 22.
Homecoming queen Wachholtz gave us her thoughts about being crowned, saying, “It’s pretty cool to be crowned queen, and it's a great honor for me.”
Other queen candidates included Madelyn Hanson, Maggie Painter, and Peyton Wieting, while the other king candidates were Korvin Fritz, Brayden Kuper, and Champion White. The letter club representatives were Deon Watts and Ashley Wacker.
Lauren Doerr, daughter of Grant and Mackenzie Doerr, and Augustus Freudenburg, son of Jason and Lauren Freudenburg, were the crown bearers.
The 2022 homecoming king, Bode Hoffmann, crowned the winners.
Homecoming king Valverde says, “I think it's amazing [to be king] especially being able to walk with my girlfriend and being king and queen together is very fun.”
On Friday, the school clubs and athletic teams got on floats and went down to the elementary and Zion to show support to the younger kids. The cheerleaders led a pep rally at the high school for all the students to enjoy.
