PHS Graduation
By Brianna Rundell
It’s that time of the year when seniors reach an important milestone in their lives, and Pierce High held its graduation ceremony, recognizing the 55 graduating seniors, on Saturday, May 11.
The ceremony for the class of 2024 began with an opening speech from principal Mark Brahmer, followed by a welcome speech from the class president Ashley Wacker.
Shortly after the senior choir students joined the underclassmen choir and sang “I Am Still Your Dreamer (A Graduation Song).”
Pierce High graduate and choir student, Izabelle Grosshuesch comments, “It was a beautiful day, and I was excited to see all of my classmates. I’m grateful to have graduated with a good class, and I’m excited to see what the future brings.”
Next was the presentation of academic letters and honor graduates followed by a salutatorian address from Maggie Painter and a valedictorian address from Travis Emory.
Guidance counselor, Mrs. Danielle Goetsch, read the list of scholarships that the graduates received.
The senior class slideshow was followed by the presentation of the diplomas.
Superintendent Kendall Steffensen states, “I believe they are a wonderful group of students who I have no doubt have had the opportunity to be prepared for the next stage in their lives.”
Congratulations to all graduates and good luck in your future!
