Art Class Showcases Talent
By Abbie Cone
The Pierce High fall art class has received the opportunity to have their artwork displayed at the Pierce Lied Library November 12-26 in the arts and crafts room. Allison. Koehler, the elementary and high school art instructor, selected the pieces that will be displayed. Viewers can come see the art on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-8, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-8, Fridays from 1-6, and Saturdays from 10-4.
“I enjoy having my art shown to people, it’s fun to get compliments on the pieces that I’ve worked really hard at,” junior art student Lillian Blank comments.
The artwork at the library are pieces that art students have created throughout the semester. Allison Koehler, art teacher, says she wanted a variety of different art pieces that demonstrated a variety of mediums being used. She hopes to swap some of the artwork out and provide new pieces from different students over the next couple weeks.
“We appreciate the Pierce Public Library for displaying our art because it inspires younger generations to want to create artwork of their own,” art teacher Allison Koehler remarks. “It is also a way to connect the community and school. The artwork provides conversation pieces that bring people together.”
