Winter Royalty Candidates

The winter royalty candidates for Pierce High have been determined and the queen candidates are Ava Knox, Skylar Scholting, Scarlett Babl, Aylla Weeder, and Natalie Kosch, while the winter royalty king candidates are Payton Cederburg, Turner Wolfe, Nickolas Efta, Bradyn Schwartz and Brecken Schwartz.
Ava Knox is the daughter of Janneil and Brian Knox. She has been a member of girls letter club and student council for four years, National Honor Society three years, FFA for two years, and FCA one year. She is currently the class historian and has been president her junior year, secretary her sophomore year, and vice president her freshman year. She was the American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State delegate her junior year. Ava has been in volleyball for four years, basketball three years, and drama for one year. She has received principal’s honor roll for four years, all-state one year in basketball, and all-conference honorable mention for volleyball one year. Ava has been in St. Joseph's Church youth group throughout high school.
Skylar Scholting is the daughter of Anne and Carl Scholting. She has been in girls letter club and student council for four years, National Honor Society three years, FFA and FCA for one year. Skylar is currently the senior class secretary, treasurer for girls letter club, and president of the National Honor Society and student council. She has also been the junior class secretary, student council secretary, sophomore class vice president, and freshman class president. Skylar has been in basketball, volleyball, and track for four years, quiz bowl three years, and journalism two years. She has received academic letter and principal’s honor roll three years, all-conference in volleyball one year and basketball one year, and all-state in volleyball one year. She has also gotten an honorable mention in basketball; academic all-state honors in track, basketball, and journalism; and is a mentor for National Honor Society. Skylar is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and has been in Y-disciples youth group and Hands for Christ.
Aylla Weeder is the daughter of Hollie and Clint Weeder. She has been in girls letter club four years, student council four years, and National Honor Society three years. She is currently the senior class treasurer, student council treasurer, and National Honor Society secretary. She has also been treasurer her sophomore and junior years and student council historian. Aylla has been in cross country and cheerleading for four years, track two years, and band one year. She has received academic letter three years, principal’s honor roll three years, the academic team one year, and all-state for two years in cross country. She has also earned the Nebraska Coaches Association cheerleading team academic excellence award. She is involved in St. Joseph’s Y-disciples group, Hands for Christ, and is a peer mentor for National Honor Society.
Scarlett Babl is the daughter of Ryan and Haylie Babl. She has been in girls letter club, student council, and FCCLA for four years, FCA three years, and FFA one year. She is currently the secretary of student council. Scarlett has participated in volleyball for four years and FFA one year. She has received an academic letter for four years, principal’s honor roll four years, and mentoring for one year. Scarlett is a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce and has been a part of the Zion youth group.
Natalie Kosch is the daughter of Eugene and Kristine Kosch. She has been in girls letter club, FCCLA, and National Honor Society for three years, and FFA one year. She is currently vice president of girls letter club. Throughout high school, Natalie has participated in volleyball and track for three years, journalism and basketball one year. She has received an academic letter for all four years, principal's honor roll four years, mentoring one year, and all state for track sophomore year. She is involved in Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and church group through St. Joseph’s in Pierce.
Brecken Schwartz is the son of Sarah and Rod Schwartz. He has been a member of boys letter club for four years. Brecken has been in football for four years, band for three years, and track two years. He has received honor roll for three years and the principal’s honor roll one year. He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church and is a member of the Pierce Volunteer Fire Department Cadet program.
Turner Wolfe is the son of Samantha and Brian Wolfe. He has been in boys letter club for four years. Turner has been in football for four years and track for two years. He has received honor roll two years and principal’s honor roll one year. He has also received an academic letter. Turner has also been a mentor.
Payton Cederburg is the son of Sarah Cederburg and Ed Heubner. He has been in boys letter club for four years. Payton has held class treasurer freshman and sophomore year and historian senior year. He has been in basketball and football for four years, speech and golf three years, band for two years, journalism and track one year. Payton has received honor roll one year, principal’s honor roll three years, and all-district honorable mention for football one year. He has been a Hands for Christ member for two years and is a member of Cornerstone Christian Church.
Bradyn Schwartz is the son of Sarah and Rod Schwartz. He has participated in football for four years, and band and track for three years. Bradyn has received an academic letter for four years, honor roll four years, and all-district football one year. He is a cadet for the Pierce Fire Station. Bradyn is a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce and is a part of the Zion Youth Group.
Nickolas Efta is the son of John and Jen Efta. He has been a member of the boys letter club for four years and class vice president his senior year. He has participated in speech, track, and cross country for three years, band for two years, quiz bowl one year, and football one year. Nick has received principal’s honor roll three years and academic all-state in cross country and track. He is a part of the Eagle Scouts of America.
Winter Royalty crowning will take place in the auditorium and the dance will follow starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 11.
