New Student Teacher at the Pierce Elementary
By Brody Coulter
The arrival of the 2025 spring semester also means the arrival of new student teachers. Almost every semester Pierce schools gain new additions to the classroom with college students on the final steps to finally becoming a teacher. This semester brings us Bailey Dinges, who is student teaching the first grade class at Pierce Elementary with Cary Meyer.
Dinges is a 21 year old senior at Wayne State College who graduated high school in 2021 in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Dinges says she is enjoying her time in Pierce so far.
When Dinges was asked why she was inspired to become a teacher, she states, “I had really great teachers growing up, and I want to be a positive role model for the kids to look up to.” Dinges says her overall goal for all her students is to be their best selves and live their best life. Dinges will be with Pierce elementary students for nearly the remainder of the semester.
