On Wednesday, January 29, FCCLA members Collin Wessendorf, Aubree Uribe, and Cailyn Rampone, competed at the District 7 and 8 FCCLA STAR competition at Wayne State College.
Wessendorf competed in the Say Yes to FCS and was the champion.
Uribe competed in Fashion Construction and also claimed first place honors. “I felt that the day went really well and everyone that competed did a great job,” Uribe comments.
Rampone was a champion in Career Investigations.
Additionally, FCCLA chapter president Shaylee Gardner also attended as District 8 representative for the Pierce chapter.
“The day went extremely well. The kids competed very well and I felt that the kids were very well prepared. Their projects were on the higher end of quality I thought in terms of District 8,” said Angie Brodersen, remarking how well the students did. “They all scored first in terms of their overall scores. I thought that everyone had remarkable scores, and that's what I was very excited about.”
Uribe, Wessendorf, and Rampone all qualified for FCCLA State Leadership Conference, which will be held April 6-8.
