Pierce Goes to Battle Creek for Speech

The Pierce speech team advanced to Battle Creek for a speech meet on Saturday, February 22.
“I was proud of everyone's performances,” head coach Melissa Legate states. "I was particularly impressed by the JV team. This was their last meet of the year, and it was awesome that they all had such a great day to end their seasons on a high note.”
At this meet for varsity, Nickolas Efta was a finalist in honor finals. He earned third in a program of oral interpretation.
Mya Johnson was also in the honors finals. She received third in serious prose.
Spencer Sindt was a finalist in the honors finals. He obtained fifth in humorous prose.
Johnson, Efta, and Sindt acquired first place in oral interpretation of drama in honors finals.
Gaining fifth place, Josie Painter made honors finals in extemporaneous speaking.
Finally, Aubrey Hanson got fifth in the honors finals for entertainment.
In the junior varsity, Camassia White earned second in entertainment and informative speaking. Teammate Meredith Krienert took third in JV informative.
Also claiming back to back placings in JV poetry were Avery Wragge and Natasha Zamora, earning second and third, respectively.
Freshman Kate Anderson placed sixth in JV serious prose.
Claiming top honors in JV persuasive speaking was Brayden Lambrecht.
