The School Play Practices Hard Preparing for the Show
By Tiffany Chaney
The all school play this year is The Play That Goes Wrong, and the play will take place on Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12.
The synopsis is essentially a play within a play where, as the title states, everything goes wrong from set mishaps to even characters being knocked out. Along with the "main" play, there is also a prelude leading into the play that is written by Brock Bretschneider. This was done to support such a large number of students wanting to participate in the play this year. It has been a lot of fun seeing the set come together and students bring their characters to life these last few weeks.
Some first-time actors from the junior and senior classes are taking the stage this year. The main eight cast members the audience will see in The Play That Goes Wrong are Addison Frye, Brayden McRoberts, Aubrey Hanson, Kreighton Simpson, Elizabeth Furstenau, Lauren Delka, Nickolas Efta, and Mya Johnson.
“The play is coming along very well, the practices are very fun, and we are very excited to show the school what we have been working on,” Johnson, a junior, stated.
Along with these students, numerous others are participating in the prelude to the play, and people can see them throughout the show trying to "fix" the things that go wrong.
“Everything is good at the moment with the play, given we have limited time to get everything done. (We have) good directors directing the play, all hands on deck, (and are) excited for the show. Overall, gonna have a great time,” assistant director Macie Timm, stated.
The all school play will start at 7 p.m. both evenings.
