Pierce One-Act Cast Prepares for the Season of Comedy and Mystery
By Brynn Schwartz
This fall, the stage lights are turning on for the one act play, and the cast is ready to bring the story, “The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb” to life.
The cast consists of 25 cast members. Leading the way is Elizabeth Furstenau as Professor Tammy Tweedum.
“Being a senior and it being my last year is very bittersweet, and I’m looking forward to what is to come,” Furstenau, a senior, said.
Lauren Delka will appear as the clever Dr. Della DeVries. Adding family flair, Lillian Blank takes on the role of Tillie Tweedum, while Spencer Sindt and Mya Johnson play the bickering siblings Neville and Nelda Nurdford.
“I'm really looking forward to seeing new and returning actors, developing skills on stage, and watching that translate into this year's play,” Johnson, a senior, said.
The Wright family comes to the stage with Elliot Vanness as Willy Wright and Addison Frye as Mrs. Wright, while Cooper Collins plays Mr. Callise. Comedy and mystery unfold with Isabelle Streff as the mystical Madame Soothsister. Adding to the colorful cast are Ann Reeker (Naloo), Jenalee McRoberts (Baloo), Payton Ebmeier (Maloo), Jayna Prochaska (Waloo), and Makayla Shefl (Paloo).
The delivery of surprising messages comes from Sawyer Konert as the Western Union delivery person. Non-speaking but equally important roles include Timbu, played by Boston Krueger and Tyler Schulz; the Mummy, played by Evelyn Skrdla; and the Dragon, who is yet to be cast. Additional players bringing depth to the scenes will be Eleanor Bauermeister, Tiffany Chaney, Avery Wragge, Natasha Zamora, Evelyn Skrdla, and Savannah Lingenfelter filling out the ensemble.
Behind the curtain, the crew is just as essential. Student technical directors Mya Johnson and Brailey Jensen will lead Harlie Painter, Blair Nitz, Kennedy Konert, Athena Bretschneider, Quinn Streff, Isabella Skillstad, Gracelynn Lingenfelter, Ethan Chaney, Kohin Eichberger, Alexander McKeown, and Grace Behmer. With the play being a mix of comedy, mystery, and teamwork, the Pierce one act cast and crew are ready to showcase their talent.
