Pierce High volleyball rolls over Cedar in a conference matchup on Tuesday night
The Bluejays fought hard in the first set and came out with a set win, 25-23, and then settled in in the second and third sets, winning them 25-17 and 25-19.
“We’re always happy to get a conference win. We did a lot of good things offensively, and we’ll work hard to improve in other areas,” head coach Zach Weber stated.
Senior outside hitter Nora Herian led the team with 15 kills, and Kyndal Werner and Lydia Cone followed closely behind with 10 each. Kayton Werner tallied four kills, while Adrienne Riggert and Alayna Herian both ended with three each.
Leading the team in digs were N. Herian and Ky. Werner with nine each, followed by Ka. Werner, Riggert, and Kenzi Nygren with five each. Josie Painter tallied four digs on the night also.
N. Herian led the team with three blocks, Cone tallied two, and Ka. Werner ended with one. Ka. Werner led the team in ace serves with four, and Painter, Ky. Werner, N. Herian, Riggert, and Kendyl Olson had one each.
“In the first set we really struggled with our serve receive, and so in the second and third set we really focused on that,” junior outside hitter Ky. Werner said. “We got Adrienne closer to the net, and that just helped us be in system more.
The Bluejays will take on the Ponca Indians and the Dakota Valley Panthers on Thursday night at a triangular in Ponca.
