Bluejay Football

JV Football Defeats Summerland
By Jada Brummels

On yet another Monday night, the JV football team traveled to Summerland and came home successful. The boys fought hard and managed to win 18-0 against the Bobcats.

“I feel like everybody is working an equal amount, and I think everybody plays as hard as they can during the game,” freshman Brysan Jones mentioned.

This attitude proved to be true, because throughout the game, Bluejay defenders held off the Bobcats, keeping them from putting any points on the board. In opposition to this, the Bluejay offensive line handled business and managed to score 18 points for the Jays.

The best plays of the night included a touchdown pass from Keegan Holan to Travis Monroe, and Carter Unger’s two touchdowns.

“The JV team played super well and very hard against Summerland. I was happy to see our boys play with more energy on the field. I was also proud of our boys defensively while not giving up any points and getting lots of pressure on the quarterback,” coach Kaleb Anderson states.

He also mentioned that Holan stepped up in a lot of ways by playing quarterback for the first time, which was amazing to see.

Sounds like a successful night for the Jays.

Come cheer on the Bluejays at their final football game in Wayne on October 19.
