The Bluejay volleyball team got a strong start to the conference tournament on Monday night at home with a clean sweep of the Ponca Indians.
The Bluejays kept consistent effort throughout the night, and the resulting set scores were 25-16, 25-8, and 25-15.
“We played an extremely clean match. We won serve and pass, which allowed us to have a very balanced attack. It was a good day for us,” head coach Zach Weber said.
Leading the team in digs was Adrienne Riggert with nine, closely followed by Kyndal Werner with eight and Josie Painter with seven. Nora Herian tallied five on the night.
N. Herian led the team in kills with 25. Ky. Werner and Ka. Werner both had seven, and Lydia Cone had three. Alayna Herian and Riggert also contributed two.
“This win helps our team’s confidence to be able to go into these next games with our heads held high and to bring energy and focus into the rest of the week,” senior setter Riggert stated.
