Senior High Quiz Bowl Competes in Mid-States

Pierce’s senior high quiz bowl team competed at the Mid-State Conference competition at O’Neill on Monday, March 25.
The students were split into two teams. On the first team were 11th and 12th graders Dean Orwig, Dylan Delka, Samantha Svendsen, Janae Arens, Katrina Meier, and Stephanie Rinkel. The other team were 9th and 10th graders Tanner Kuper, Mark Venteicher, Shawn Rinkel, Abigail Meier, MacKenzie Peters, and Abygail Streff.
The 11th-12th team did not place and the 9th-10th team placed 3rd.
Quiz bowl member and captain, Samantha Svendsen states, “Overall, I think quiz bowl went well this year. We didn't practice at all this year, so it was interesting to go into matches with other schools that had. But, even without practice, it was fun to see what questions we could answer and what answers we could come up with when we conferred.”
