Pierce High Students Are Getting Ready For Prom
By Elizabeth Furstenau
Students and faculty are preparing for prom, which will be held on Friday, March 21, at The White House Reception Hall. This year’s theme is Roll Out the Red Carpet/Hollywood.
Each year, the junior class discusses and plans the night with the help of the junior class sponsors, Katie Brummels and Diana Kuehler. This committee decides on the catering and menu, decorations, photography, and more.
“We have a meeting with the class officers to determine what areas we need to focus on as far as like decorations, set up, invitations, and things like that,” Kuehler states.
The doors to the White House will open at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:30. The dance will follow from 8-11.
Taylormade Catering is providing all of the food for the dinner. The dinner served will consist of a choice of smothered chicken or fried cod, cheesy potatoes, and a salad.
Reflections Portraits will be taking pictures for anyone who would like professionally posed shots.
The Music Machine will be the DJ.
Junior class president, Mya Johnson, is a part of the committee.
“I have really enjoyed planning for prom,” Johnson claims. “It just makes me appreciate everything it takes to put the dance on that much more. I’m very excited for everyone to see what we’ve put together.”
