The Pierce High speech team held their showcase on Saturday, March 15, at 10 a.m.
“The speech showcase allows the team to get one more practice in before districts, provides a way for community members to see the bravery and the work the speech kids put in during the year, it also allows community members to learn more about speech,” Melissa Legate, the high school's head speech coach said.
This is the tenth year the speech team has put on this event. The event contains 37 different speeches and acts to watch from the junior varsity and the varsity team.
“I look forward to my family seeing the speech I worked hard to perfect,” Nickolas Efta, a senior on the speech team says.
The speech team will be wrapping up their season heading to Schuyler for districts on Saturday, March 22, at 8 a.m. and then finishing the season at state in Kearney on March 26.
