Three Ninth Graders to Represent Pierce
The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) program is sponsoring a Community Leadership Workshop (CLeW) in Norfolk on Saturday, March 22.
Freshmen Kate Anderson, Jada Johnson, and Darcy Watts will represent Pierce at this year’s HOBY CLeW conference.
A CLeW seminar provides up to three ninth grade students per high school the opportunity to develop an introduction to leadership skills and education, participate in community service and discuss issues with local community leaders.
These one-day workshops jumpstart student leadership journeys and connect them to peers in their communities. After attending a CLeW, students are challenged to complete 100 hours of community service within the next year as a pledge to put their passion and leadership skills into action.
