What to Expect from Girls Track this Year
By Parker Gaes
Let’s start off with an explosion on how girls' track will kick off this year. The first team practice was on March 4, a very good way to start off the track season with the warm weather.
There were 35 girls that went out for track this year, and only six of the girls are seniors.
“We have a really good team. I think it is going to be hard to find weaknesses in this team. I feel we are going to be able to compete in every event,” head coach Les Painter said.
To improve from last year, Painter says the team needs, “the belief we are good enough to compete in class B.”
“This is going to be a fun season. We have a great group of young ladies, and I cannot wait to watch them compete,” Painter said.
The Pierce girls team will have their first competition on April 1, at Stanton.
Hopefully it is an exciting first track meet day for everybody.
