Eighth Graders Venture to Northeast Community College
By Chloe Bernhardt
The eighth graders visited Northeast Community College for their career day on Wednesday, April 2.
The career days help the students start to figure out what they want to do with their lives after high school and get them thinking about what colleges or careers would be the best fit for them.
“During the first semester in the fall, they took a career test, and it gave them a bunch of different challenges, brain games, and kinds of things to test their aptitude to their interests,” Macie Timm, guidance assistant, states.
At the Northeast career day they got to look at their results and do different activities. By doing this they see what careers would fall into their aptitudes and interests. Along with that they did a budgeting activity and looked up the amount of education they would need for the career fields they want to go into.
“The career day was a great life experience for us to learn about future jobs that we could be interested in,” eighth grader Trae Bernhardt comments.
