Pierce High Boys Track

Pierce Dominates In Wisner Pilger Track invite
By Parker Gaes

The Pierce High boys track team brought some energy to the Booster/Lions Club Invite at Wisner-Pilger High School.

The Jays had to wake up early for this meet, the buses left the nest at 7:10 a.m.

The boys still managed to get the job done and finished in second place out of everybody there, and there was some tough competition including Wayne, Stanton, Aquinas Catholic, Logan View, North Bend Central, Humphrey-Lindsey, Lutheran High NE, Wisner-Pilger.

The day started off very early, leading with shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.

The boys placed very well in these events with

Jax Bauer, getting fifth place at discus. He threw 137-03.5.

At high jump, Parker Gaes got sixth place, jumping 5-06.

In long jump Ryder Theisen got second place, with a jump of 20-09.

In the triple jump, Theisen nabbed first place with a jump of 45-01 and coming in second place was Gavin Lubischer, with a jump of 39-07.5.

Once the running events started, the Jays did great holding their ground, with a whole lot of personal records (PR) and people placing really great in their events.

For the 4x100, the boys placed third with a time of 49.39, and running this event for Pierce were Sean Monroe, Lubischer, Aiden Pospisil, and Gaes.

Hayden Bauer placed second in the 200-meter dash. Bauer ran a time of 24.74.

In the 300-hurdles, Theisen again claimed first with a time of 42.78. Gaes also had a good time and came in second, running the race in 43.99.

Bauer placed fourth in the 400-meter dash. He ran a time of 56.5.

In the 1600-meter run, Kendall Shada ran 4:58.75 and got second place. He also finished second in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:08.81.

Also claiming first was Brenden Bolling ran the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:46.82.

“I thought that the girls did a very nice job in all of their events as they normally do, but on the varsity side of boys. I was shocked that we got second place, I know we missed some key runners and throwers, and the wind was pretty bad, but that’s where the mental part of this sport comes into play. I thought I ran a very good open 800 considering it was my first. I would like to give Brenden props because I don’t know how he can do the 800 and the 1600 with very little rest in between the two,” Kendall Shada said.

Shada is a very strong runner for the jays. He places in almost every race that he runs for the Jays.

“Pole vault went bad, because it was very windy in the morning and cold. I thought the boys did very good on Saturday, and competed very well with other teams,” William Korth said.

Come and join the boys track team next Thursday, April 24, at the Pierce activities complex.
