Pierce High Girls Track

Pierce Girls Track Dominates at Wisner Meet

Pierce girls track team took home first place after attending the Lions Club invite at Wisner-Pilger on Saturday, April 12, at Wisner-Pilger High School. 

Field events started in the morning, and Pierce claimed the top three in discus throw. Kylie Dvorak received first and threw a distance of 129-11. Jessa Kraft took second place and threw 120-08.50. Finally, Raleigh Pfeiffer placed third and threw 111-04.50. 

Earning first in the high jump, Claudia Riggert was marked at 4-10. 

In long jump, Kosch jumped 15-10.25, placing third. 

Aubrie Zimmerman placed fourth while Evelyn Skrdla ended in sixth in pole vault with vaults of 8-0 and 7-06, respectively.

Emily Endorf and Naomi Sullivan participated in triple jump. Endorf jumped 31-09 and placed third, and Sullivan jumped 30-08.75 and placed fifth. 

Pierce again claimed three medals in shot put. Kraft threw a distance of 34-05 and received second, Pfeiffer threw 34-04.50 putting her at third, and Dvorak placed fourth and threw 33-06.50.

Starting with the girls 4x800 relay, Hadleigh Collison, Haley Scholting, Zoey Ebmeier and Aislyn Moeller placed first at 10:41.27 in this event. 

“My favorite event is probably the 4x800,” Ebmeier commented. 

Next was the 100-meter hurdles. Skylar Scholting ran a 16.79 and Collison an 18.19, placing them second and fourth. 

In the 300-meter hurdles, Collison got first with a 49.26, S. Scholting received second with a 50.18, and Grace Suckstorf placed fifth with a 53.71. 

Endorf and Riggert competed in the 400-meter dash. Endorf got fourth place, running a 1:08.00, and Riggert got sixth and had a time of 1:08.36. 

H. Scholting placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:40.07. 

Next was the 1600 meter run; Ebmeier finished at 6:05.04 and placed first. 

Kosch, Sullivan, Suckstorf, and Moeller, competed in the 4x100 relay, they received second, running a 54.44. 

“I think I did well on getting mentally prepared. The 4x100 is pretty fun. I definitely think that I have improved on my 300 hurdles,” Suckstorf said. 

The team for the 4x400 relay consisted of Moeller, S. Scholting, Endorf, and Collison, and they finished first with a time of 4:25.65.

Out of the 17 events, Pierce girls came out on top with a total of 153.5 points. 

The next track meet is Thursday, April 24, in Pierce at the activities complex.


Pierce High Girls Track Team Shines at Wayne Track Meet

The Pierce girls competed at the Wayne invite and finished their day in fourth place with 75 points. 

“The girls faced some good competition at the Wayne Invite; however, they stepped up to the challenge in many ways that will help them when it comes time to compete at districts. I am excited to see how far some of them will go this season,” Kaleb Anderson said.

Kicking off the meet with discus, Jessa Kraft placed second and threw a distance of 122-04. Close to her in placings was Kylie Dvorak, who finished third and threw 118-00 and Raleigh Pfeiffer, who placed fourth and threw 109-01. 

The girls then had two medalists in shot put. Pfeiffer placed second with a throw of 35-08, and Dvorak placed fifth with a throw of 33-04.

Placing sixth in long jump, Nora Herian jumped 15-11. 

Starting running events out strong, the 4x800 meter relay team consisting of Aislyn Moeller, Haley Scholting, Abigail Cone, and Hadleigh Collison, placed first, running a time of 10:22.72.

“I thought the track meet went well for it being only our second one. I felt we improved as a team in a lot of different areas,” H. Scholting said.

In the 3200-meter run, Josie Painter placed fourth, with a time of 13:37.26.

Moving on to the 300-meter hurdles, Skylar Scholting placed third with a time of 49.84 and Collison placed fourth with a time of 49.92.

Next, in the 1600-meter run, Zoey Ebmeier placed third, running a time of 6:02.78, and H. Scholting placed fourth with a time of 6:08.67.

In the 800-meter run, H. Scholting finished sixth with a time of 2:35.70.

Ending the meet on a positive note, the 4x400-meter relay team made up of Moeller, H. Scholting, Cone, and Collison placed first, running a time of 4:14.40.
