Valentine’s Day–the day of love, flowers, and chocolates.
Some people love Valentine's Day, while others think of it as just another day. Some people might have awesome plans this year or every year, for example, going out to eat with that special someone or no plans at all. It all depends on how people want to spend the day. Maybe celebrating this day is not something to do. This day is as special as people want to make it.
Let’s take a look at what Valentine’s day means to a few people.
“I think that Valentine's Day is a cute holiday and the light pinks and reds are a great contrast to the winter blues,” senior Samantha Painter said.
“When I was in elementary school, Valentine's Day was so fun because I got to make my own little Valentine’s Day box, and my classmates would give me candy,” senior Abigail Cone said.
For some people this day means celebrating the love they have for someone by buying them gifts. In 2025 the amount of money spent on Valentine’s Day presents was $27.5 billion. This year experts predict that that number will be much higher.
Maybe Valentine’s Day is just another day on the calendar or one filled with lots of candy and celebrating love. For others it brings back childhood memories filled with crazy boxes loaded with candy. All in all Valentine’s day is a holiday celebrated in many different ways.
