FFA Prepares for Upcoming Week

Dust off the hats and shine up the boots because next week, February 23-27, is National FFA week! 

“My hopes for the upcoming FFA week are that the students really have a fun time during the week. We're going to have different dress-up days. I hope they participate. That's always fun to see participation,” Dierck White, president of Pierce High’s FFA chapter, remarked. 

The week will be filled with all things FFA themed, including the daily dress days for high school and junior high students. Monday dress as a future career in ag. On Tuesday, students and staff choose whether they want to dress as the farmer or the farm animal. Blend in on Wednesday and wear a best camouflage outfit. Thursday, wear the FFA colors: blue and gold. To end the week, on Friday, students from each grade will wear a designated color based on tractor brands. 

The FFA will be hosting a fundraiser during the week. Students will pledge money for a teacher of their choice to be selected to kiss a goat in front of the school. All money raised will be donated to a family who is in a time of financial need in the community. 

“So we kind of strive to help the community and be a part of the community and try to get them involved with helping people and stuff like that,” Alexandria Huwaldt, secretary of Pierce High’s FFA chapter, commented. “We really love those parts of FFA, and being part of helping our community and stuff, but also going on trips like national convention, state convention, those are a lot of fun. There is no doubt that the upcoming week will be filled with lots of fun activities and “moo-ving”  experiences, which are proof that FFA students are always going somewhere!
