Little Kids Cheer for Bluejays

An exponential number of kids participated in the little kids cheer camp held at the high school on September 4.
The campers, along with high school cheerleaders, trekked to the high school around 3:30 p.m. After learning all their cheers, cheer camp participants then got to see their parents before the football game, where they showcased what they learned hours earlier.
“If I hadn’t gone to camp, I never would have considered it,” Krissy Finch stated when asked if she would try out for the cheer team once entering high school.
Future cheerleaders from Pierce Elementary and Zion Lutheran made up the 114 kids who signed up for the camp. All had an amazing time chatting, learning, exploring the activity of cheer, posing for pictures, and having not one, but two snacks.
“The feeling is bittersweet. I genuinely enjoy cheer camp, not because I love rounding up 114 children, but because the joy on their faces makes it all worth it,” cheer co-captain Jada Brummels stated. “Throughout my time on the team, I have realized that not only have the cheerleaders become more united, but also that the student section as a whole has been more active than in past years.”
Campers learned cheers, crowd cheers, and a dance.
